Thank you for taking the time to do a review for us. We aim to please. Happy Christmas !

Arrived and no one to greet us, thought we were too early, so drove around , came back still no one around- rang owner who said go in no one available - would have been nice to have communication prior to arriving as to arrangement ! Our room and bathroom very tired , needed redecorating ( not one pictured on website ) toilet flush kept getting stuck ! The beds were very comfortable

Response from Hotel
Thank you for your review.

As we are a small family run B&B , sometimes it is difficult to always be at the property , we do endeavour to contact guests , to make arrangements if we know they would like to arrive early to prevent this situation from happening, unfortunately we did not know this was the case with your booking. Thank you for bringing the toilet flush to our attention , this has now been fixed. We tend to refresh the painting in the quieter season which we are now coming into and will definitely look at the room. I hope as this was your second visit to the property we will see you again in the near future. Merry Christmas Emma

Great Weekend
My partner & I stayed with Emma at the Detling Coachhouse while we were visiting Kent for the Social Festival at Kent County Showground. Emma was there to greet us, gave all the details we needed to know and recommend nice places to eat near by. The room was beautiful with lovely original features, modern onsuite bathroom and extremely comfortable large bed! Unfortunately we never got to sample the cooked breakfast as we were never up early enough but the continental option was nice! We had to leave very early, and Emma kindly mad us a continental breakfast to go. I\'d definitely recommend staying at the Detling Coachhouse house as Emma is a great host and the rooms are beautiful, also the garden is just a great place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine while sitting by the large pond watching the fish and wildlife. If you\'re not traveling by car be prepared to pay lots for taxis as its quite far for any imenities.

A Lovely Stay In A Beautiful Location
Although it\'s a little out of the way - and you probably will drive past it the first time - Detling Coachhouse has everything you need, from the warm and friendly welcome to comfortable, clean rooms, full of character, with excellent tea and coffee making facilities. We were a party of 5, staying 2 nights for a family wedding and although the phone signal isn\'t great (depending on your phone provider) the free Wi-Fi is extremely reliable and a godsend for us to contact family in the area through Facebook to arrange meeting etc.

The choice of breakfast is second to none, with cereal, toast, continental, full English, yoghurts and pain au chocolat, etc. as well as a wide choice of tea flavours. Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

Great Price For Lovely Setting And Service.
I needed a one night stay for business, and was recommended Detling House from a customer.

The setting is lovely, and was warmly greeted upon arrival, and shown to my room. I was even bought a cup of tea as I settled in, a lovely touch. The room was nice, decent size (double bed), built in wardrobe and en-suite with shower, with a nice fireplace also in the room. The batthroom is small, but perfectly adequeate for B&B purposes.

A real bonus was free WIFI, which had an excellent signal.

The B&B is a very short drive to a village with 2 decent pubs, both serve decent food.

Breakfast was great, cooked very well, with cold options also available.

If I am down Maidstone again, I would not hesitate to use Detling House again.

Very Nice Stay
A lovely stay. Only a few quirks:

-bed was not perfectly comfortable but still very nice;

-we had an issue with the hot water which was resolved very quickly;

-having to have breakfast before 9am on a Sunday was a bit of a rush, even an extra 30 minute sleep in would make a big difference.

All in all I would definitely recommend though.

We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at this guest house whilst walking from London to Canterbury. (And yes - we did make it, with some sore feet!) We were welcomed by Malcolm, who saw how wet and bedraggled we were and offered to let us use the washing machine and tumble drier - an offer which was very much appreciated by us! A Pleasant Stay
Delting Coach House's inviting nature was apparent from arrival in the car park with the soft sound of running water. I was made to feel very welcome from the beginning, even with the offer of a cup of coffee on my arrival. That you are staying in a family run establishment shows with the affable nature extended and the amenability of the service offered.

The room was comfortable, well laid out and maintained. The beamed, vaulted ceiling created a personal character to the room.

The area is also great if you need to get out for a run or a walk.

All in all, a restful and pleasant stay.

Perfect Stopover
My husband and I needed a stopover between two Christmas parties - one in London and one in Kent. Detling Coach House provided the perfect package. We arrived a little later than predicted and we got a phone call to check and no feeling at all of inconveniencing the owner when we arrived. In fact we were followed by a much noisier party obviously doing much the same thing! The bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable. My husband did have a problem with the shower and the water system is noisy so, for those reasons we could not award the full five stars, but we would certainly use this B&B again. A good breakfast set us on our way again. The quiet countryside setting, easily accessible from main routes, was definitely an added bonus.

Always A Pleasure
We always stay here when we are in this region, because the rooms are always comfortable, the staff are so friendly and helpful, and the coach house itself is in such a peaceful area (no bonging clock towers, heavy traffic, etc.). Breakfast is always plentiful and delicious. There are informative guides and pamphlets just inside the entrance, for people who may not have decided what they wish to do yet (e.g. visit Leeds Castle, which is very close by). A-class Accomodation Off-track Ndw
Lovely authentic accomodation, great host. Everything you could wish for and need in a B&B. We were walking the North Downs Way and for that purpose it's a little bit off track. It's a 1,5mile walk from the local pub (up hill) to the b&b. However, if you plan your trip well, the walk uphill is well worth the stay! Both the pub and the b&b are highley recommended.

Pleasant Place To Stay
The Detling Coach House is situated near to Maidstone next to the County Showground. It is easy to find just off the A249.

Beware the low entrance door if you are tall. However you soon get used to it.

Our double room was reasonable size. There was a very thick quilt (bit too hot for me). The coffee/tea facilities were welcome after a long drive. Bathroom was a good size and the shower was hot and powerful. Breakfast was of a good quality with plenty of choice. All in all a recommended place to stay for a ressonable price.

A Lovely Place To Stay Near Maidstone
Detling Coach House is a delightful B&B in the country near Maidstone. It faces one of the back entrances to the Kent County Showground and is only two minutes off the A249 which links the M2 and M20.

I needed some peace and quiet and good internet access to be able to work while I stayed there and I found both. My room, which was a double for single occupancy was compact because of its L shape, but very comfortable and more than adequate. Breakfast was excellent! My one small criticism would be about the shower room, where the nearest place to hang the towel, wasn't within reach of the shower.

B And B
A lovely building in a beautiful setting and a tastefully decorated room but advertised as a double when it wasn't possible to get into bed on one side as it was up against a wall- OK for us but not for elderly or less mobile. The shower drain was blocked and water couldn't run away fast enough leading to flooding of bathroom. We did report this to the owner but she insisted it was just draining slowly and not a problem. It was! Also there needs to be a shelf or somewhere to put shower gel, shampoo etc which had to go on the floor. An opened packet of biscuits and used soap was left from last guest; also gunge in bottom of tooth mug. Details which leave a disappointing impression. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice but there were no toast racks (who likes soggy toast?) and on first day there was no room in the dining room! These things are all easy to rectify and wouldn't cost much to put right but would make a big difference to a customer's satisfaction and lasting impression.

Priestfield Stadium has been virtually re-built since the current Chairman Paul Scally took over in 1995. On one side of the ground is the impressive two tiered, Medway Stand, opened in 2000 , with a row of executive boxes (the type which you can sit outside of) running across the middle. Opposite is the tidy all seater Gordon Road Stand. Unfortunately though, it contains a number of supporting pillars, which may hinder your view. This also has an unusual TV gantry perched on its roof. The Rainham End, has also been re-developed, with a single tier cantilevered stand, which replaced a former terrace.
